Welcome to the
Minnesota Academy for Comprehensive Dentistry
The Minnesota Academy of Restorative Dentistry is an invitation only academy whose members represent all fields of dentistry. Our Mission is to provide a forum for members to present, study, and discuss topics in comprehensive dentistry to enhance their clinical skills, knowledge and standard of care.
It is an honor for me to serve as your president for the 2017-18 MACD season and I look forward to the many events planned for the year. We are excited to present to you our schedule of programs (see below) and feel that you will find value in what we have organized. Your Board is working together to not only collaborate on the programs we provide to members but to also strategize the MACD mission and goals. As we’ve discussed over the past few years, one important initiative is to increase our members through your recommendations of individuals that would be a good match for our study club. It is important that we strive to bring in new talented members and ideas. We encourage each of you to invite colleagues that may be interested in attending a meeting or becoming a member of our group. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about membership or potential new members.
This year’s programs cover a range of topics in comprehensive dentistry that we hope you will each enjoy attending. Our lineup for the year includes:
September 22, 2017: Dr. Rodrigo Maia speaking on Dental Adhesion and Minimally Invasive Concepts and Cariology.
November 17, 2017 (Team Event): Kirk Behrendt will present to us Practice Management Pearls from ACT Dental Practice Coaching. We encourage you to bring your team to this energizing presentation.
January 19, 2018: Dr. Brody Hildebrand will be in town to discuss Success with Complex Interdisciplinary Treatment Plans: Improving the Patient Treatment Experience through Treatment Protocols for IDT Patients.
March 2, 2018: Karen Baker will speak to the club about Advances in Dental Pharmacotherapy, Drug Reactions and Interactions.
In previous years we’ve also included programs where members present to the study group. This has been a great way to dialogue within our club and learn from each other. You will note that we do not have that forum scheduled this year, but we would like to incorporate this in the future. Please reach out to me if you are interested in presenting a topic or case to the group.
Finally, the Board is underway in discussing the 2018 Spring Social. We hope you all enjoyed the summer social at Canterbury Downs.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns pertaining to the MACD.
