Welcome to the
Minnesota Academy for Comprehensive Dentistry
The Minnesota Academy of Restorative Dentistry is an invitation only academy whose members represent all fields of dentistry. Our Mission is to provide a forum for members to present, study, and discuss topics in comprehensive dentistry to enhance their clinical skills, knowledge and standard of care.
Welcome everyone to our 2016-17 MACD season. This past summer was eventful for me as I was honored at the AGD annual meeting with my Mastership in the Academy. It is a passion for dentistry and continuing education that helped me realize this goal. Now, I am honored to be your president and am excited about our lineup for the year and encourage everyone to attend as many meetings as possible.
Our mission is to provide a forum whereby members can present, study and discuss current topics in Comprehensive Dentistry and to recruit qualified dentists willing to share and participate in the enhancement of clinical skills, thereby establishing and maintaining an exemplary high level of comprehensive dental practice. That being said, if anyone has a colleague that they feel would be a good fit for our club, we encourage you to invite them to a meeting and possible membership. Also, if anyone has an educational experience that you would like the board to pursue, please pass that along to myself or any of your board members. This is your club!
Our lineup for the year includes:
September 23, 2016: Local colleague, Dr. Mark Malterud, will speak on Minimally Invasive Dentistry with a particular focus on the use of ozone as an adjunct to these treatments.
November 18, 2016: Dr. Bill Hang discussing Face Focused Orthodontic Philosophy, Orthotropics and incorporating them with Interdisciplinary Care.
January 13, 2017: Dr. Jason Gillespie will speak on Implant Dentistry: Practicalities, Pearls and Pitfalls.
March 17, 2017: Dr. John Burgess will speak on the science and application of bonding in all avenues of dentistry and materials.
Spring Social: We had a nice attendance at the St. Paul Saints game and a lot of fun, so we are considering returning there or reserving the patio at Canterbury Downs for an evening of horse racing.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns pertaining to the MACD.
I look forward to seeing you all in September!
